Here it is, I can’t believe that we’re into fall now Our summer out here on the west coast lasted only about a month. We had tons of rain this year and it was cold. Not that I’m really complaining, I don’t like the scorching heat and prefer a milder temperature. Ajaye loves the hot weather though, so she missed out. She did take a trip to Hawaii this summer and caught up with some rays. I went to San Diego for a nice get away. Mild temperature there too, but the valley on the way home was really hot, around 38 C.

We are now in the middle of recording the new cd. I’m leaning towards calling it “What ifs and the maybes”, pretty cool title. It comes as a line in one of the songs. We had another working title, but I’m feeling pretty good about using this one. Who knows though, by the end of it, it may change again.

So far we have everything done except for Ricky and his mandolin, Michael and his pedal steel and Douglas still has a few guitar parts.

Marc Gladstone is on board to help c0- produce this album. It’s a nice addition. We are leaning towards a more country pop batch of songs, more like Sugarland and Lady Antebellum.

Ajaye has written 3 songs on the cd this time, they are really good. I’m so proud of her. She’s back at university in the Theater program. Plus she’s recording songs for her solo career.

I’m busy with my other band Stone Poets. A really cool – Alternative Dark Folk trio with Marc Gladstone and Scott Jackson. We have been busy writing and recording and will be releasing a new EP, mid November. You can check us out on our reverbnation site www.reverbnation/stonepoets

We’ll keep you posted when the recording for The Jardines is finished. We’re looking at the end of October for mixing and hopefully have our cd ready, just in time for Christmas

We’ve submitted for Cover me Canada, with our cool version of Sundown by Gordon Lightfoot. He really likes our version of the song, lets hope the powers that be like it enough to take Ajaye and I back to Toronto to be on the show.

We’re back in the studio…

Starting next week, laying down beds at the Sound Lounge with Kirk Douglas.

We’ll be recording most of the summer and can’t wait to have you hear the new tunes

Our direction is changing a little, we’re going more towards a pop/country sound, leaving the alt behind. I know you’re really going to like it

Keep tuned into the world, there is so much going on right now, stay close to each other and do what you can to make it better. It’s all baby steps, but stepping makes it a leap of faith

Another glorious Vancouver day. It’s like spring here, I wish you could see, sun shining down, birds soaring, ahhhh

We’re getting ready for our 1st show of 2011. Winterfest in Richmond at the Olympic Oval. Sunday Feb 13th. We don’t have our time yet, it’s somewhere around 3, but come out for the day. Lots to do and see, plus Abandon Paris is headlining the event. Marc Gladstone our keyboard player and Brian Sanheim our bass player, are in the band.

Winterfest in Richmond is our next show, Sunday Feb 13th, time around 3, still waiting to be announced. The show is taking place at the Oval, Richmond’s Olympic skating facility

The end of 2010

Here we are again, the end of another year.
This has been an amazing year for our band. Not only did we release a new cd, but did it at the Olympics-at the opening ceremonies in Richmond BC. We produced 3 live videos shot at The Cultch with Marko Ibarra. Had some great shows and started writing for our new album.
The new year is going to be great, we’re going back in to record the new cd, with a spring release and are also releasing a live cd that will be available on Itunes in the new year

November running out

Here we are, at the end of November, I can’t believe how fast the time has gone.
We are busy in pre production for our new album, we’ll start working on it in February for a spring release.
We’ll also be releasing a live album, that was recorded by the one and only Cecil English and mixed by Kirk Douglas of the Sound Lounge.

Hi everyone

Hope this finds you all well and happy.

We have an upcoming show in Abbotsford, November 26th, full band, sans our guitarist Douglas Liddle. He had prior commitments. It’s a great music series, we’d love to have you come out and hang with us.

After our show in Squamish in December, we’ll be taking a brief break, to start recording some new songs (in January) so will be letting you know once they are done
