Looking for a new drummer

April 1st, 2012

We are so sad to see our drummer Kirk Douglas leave the band. He is a close friend and we wish him all the best in his original project The Crawl.
If you are a drummer in the Vancouver area reading this, please contact Cherelle at cherellejardine@shaw.ca Include press kit and links to live performance and recorded tracks

As for The Jardines, we are currently finishing up vocals harmonies on the new album What ifs and maybes. We’ll be releasing it this July at the Merritt Mountain Music festival in Merritt BC. We’re also opening up for Dallas Smith at the VIX this August. More details to follow.
Can’t wait for you to hear the new album, it’s full of gems.
Have a great day, what ever it is you are doing
Peace and love
Cherelle and Ajaye

We have some festivals lined up and will tell you as soon as we have some of the details
Ajaye is busy in University and I’ve been busy with my other band Stone Poets.

Recording at the Sound Lounge with Kirk Douglas

September 24th, 2011

Here it is, I can’t believe that we’re into fall now  Our summer out here on the west coast lasted only about a month.  We had tons of rain this year and it was cold.  Not that I’m really complaining, I don’t like the scorching heat and prefer a milder temperature.  Ajaye loves the hot weather though, so she missed out.   She did take a trip to Hawaii this summer and caught up with some rays.  I went to San Diego for a nice get away.  Mild temperature there too, but the valley on the way home was really hot, around 38 C.

We are now in the middle of recording the new cd.  I’m leaning towards calling it “What ifs and the maybes”,  pretty cool title.  It comes as a line in one of the songs.  We had another working title, but I’m feeling pretty good about using this one.   Who knows though, by the end of it, it may change again.

So far we have everything done except for Ricky and his mandolin, Michael and his pedal steel and Douglas still has a few guitar parts.

Marc Gladstone is on board to help c0- produce this album.  It’s  a nice addition. We are leaning towards a more country pop batch of songs, more like Sugarland and Lady Antebellum.

Ajaye has written 3 songs on the cd this time, they are really good. I’m so proud of her.  She’s back at university in the Theater program.  Plus she’s recording songs for her solo career.

I’m busy with my other band Stone Poets.  A really cool – Alternative Dark Folk trio with Marc Gladstone and Scott Jackson.  We have been busy writing and recording and will be releasing a new EP, mid November.  You can check us out on our reverbnation site www.reverbnation/stonepoets

We’ll keep you posted when the recording for The Jardines is finished.  We’re looking at the end of October for mixing and hopefully have our cd ready, just in time for Christmas :)

At least just in time for festival submissions

Til next time, take care of each other and fill the world with love

Peace and love

Cherelle and Ajaye
